Shaista is ninety days into recovery and would welcome a mentor with lived experience.

I'm ninety days into recovery from opioid addiction. I attend meetings and see a counselor, but the weeks between meetings are the hardest. I'd love a mentor - someone who has a year or more of recovery and who would be willing to talk once a week. I'm not looking for a replacement for treatment. I'm looking for someone who understands what a bad Tuesday night feels like. I'd prefer someone who's happy to do video calls. Any country is fine. I'll be respectful of your time and boundaries, and happy to pay it forward later. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • Sending love. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. After 12 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything. All the best.

    • Stay strong. Your post was clear and honest. Put this on a community board in Hyderabad this morning.

      • Rooting for you, Shaista. Shared it with a few friends. I have a 10 year old who wants to send good wishes too.

        • Thinking of you and your family, Shaista. Shared this with my family. We're a small family in São Paulo but we're thinking of you. Blessings.

          • Hope things get better soon, Shaista. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry. Thinking of Quetta.
