Jumoke is a single parent of four children - help us after a sudden redundancy
Jumoke and four children need a bridge to stability after a sudden redundancy.
Anywhere in the world1,323 views
Since a sudden redundancy in September, I'm now raising four children on my own. I work as a part-time receptionist, but my income doesn't cover rent, childcare and groceries.
I'm retraining as an electrician in the evenings, which will triple my income by December, but I need to bridge the gap until then.
Some weeks I skip meals so my children can eat. I have never asked anyone for help like this before, and I'm doing it for them.
Once I finish my course, I'll pay it forward.
Every cent is accounted for. I'll share a simple monthly breakdown.
Where the $500 goes:
• Rent top-up: $200
• Childcare and after-school care: $155
• Groceries and school meals: $70
• Course fees and exam costs: $75
Glad we found this place.

How is Jumoke doing now?
Hope it all works out. I hope things turn around soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Faisalabad.
Thinking of you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. I'll check back for the next update. God bless!
Hang in there, Jumoke. Hope you get there.
