I'm caring for my mother, who's 79. After a stroke last July Gizem can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Gizem desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Gizem worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for six months will make a huge difference. Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies. Where the $950 goes: • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $135 • Part-time carer (six months): $640 • Medication and prescriptions: $175 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
