Rafał was diagnosed with osteoarthritis in the right knee in June. The surgeon at Warsaw Orthopedic Institute recommended knee replacement surgery, and He is scheduled for August. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $2,750, and after what our health plan will pay we're still $2,200 short. my son has been in and out of Warsaw Orthopedic Institute since June. The doctors say osteoarthritis in the right knee will get worse without knee replacement surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $2,750 is more than we can find. While we wait, Rafał struggles with daily life and can't look after the children alone.
