Kamal can't leave home - help build a ramp
Help Kamal regain independence: a simple ramp build.
๐ฑ๐ฐ Negombo, Western, Sri Lanka1,177 views
Kamal has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Kamal can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Kamal's family will cook lunch for the team.
Glad we found this place.

Hope it all works out, Gihan. Wishing Kamal a smooth procedure and a full recovery. I hope June is when things finally get easier. Thinking of Negombo.
it takes guts to ask. Well done. Please keep us posted. Take care.
