I'm the first person in my family to go to university. I'm studying an accounting degree at the Kano Institute of Technology, and I'm one semester away from graduating. I have worked as a library assistant to pay my way, but this term my hours were cut and I have an unpaid balance of $700.
The registrar has told me I can't enroll for the next term until the balance is cleared. I have a distinction average, and my department head has written in support of my application for a payment plan.
Graduating means a stable job and the chance to support my younger siblings. Without enrolling this term I'd lose my place and my scholarship eligibility.
I'm not asking for a handout - I want to finish what I started and then help the next student.
The payment will go directly to the the Kano Institute of Technology bursar's office. I'll post the receipt.
Where the $700 goes:
• Outstanding tuition balance: $230
• Final term tuition: $400
• Exam and lab fees: $15
• Textbooks and materials: $55
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

any update on how things are going in Kano?
Sending strength. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend.
Rooting for you. As a teacher I love seeing someone work this hard to learn. After 15 years in accounting I know how hard it's to ask for anything
Education changes everything, hope you graduate with honors. Wish I lived closer to Juazeiro do Norte so I could bring a meal.
Thinking of you, Garba. Your post was clear and honest. Greetings from Magelang
