I'm caring for my mother, who's 95. After a diagnosis of dementia Renata can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Renata desperately wants to stay at home. I work 30 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer. Renata worked all of her life as a factory worker, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back. Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for four months will make a huge difference. The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices. Where the $1,850 goes: • Part-time carer (four months): $1,250 • Medication and prescriptions: $260 • Hospital bed and mattress rental: $165 • Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $175 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($143 in total) I made the first payment toward hospital bed and mattress rental. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
