Evgeny is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Evgeny was diagnosed with cervical cancer in January. The oncology team at Kharkiv Regional Medical Center has planned 10 rounds of treatment, starting in April. He will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Evgeny is 30, worked as a primary school teacher until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Kharkiv Regional Medical Center 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment. Where the $2,400 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,500 • Scans and lab work: $230 • Transport to Kharkiv Regional Medical Center: $220 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $165 • Household costs while unable to work: $285 Glad we found this place. - Vitaly

Updates from Vitaly

  1. Wanted to say thank you properly. 5% funded and we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. - Vitaly

  2. Quick update: $60 raised so far (3%). I met with the treatment center and confirmed the amounts. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.

  3. Thank you all. We're at 3% now ($60). I'm honestly stunned. I made the first payment toward chemotherapy and medication not covered.

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. chemotherapy and medication not covered comes first ($1,500) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Thanks for asking.
