Houston
Giang lives with a spinal cord injury. The occupational therapist at the Houston Mobility Clinic has assessed him and recommended a cochlear implant processor upgrade. The public scheme doesn't cover it, and the quote from the supplier is $3,400. His current equipment is 11 years old and keeps breaking, which has confined him to home for 12 weeks. With the right equipment Giang could attend work interviews. It would change everyday life for the whole family. We've applied to two charities already and received small contributions; this campaign covers the rest. I'll pay the supplier directly from the funds, and I'll post a photo once the equipment is delivered. Where the $3,400 goes: • cochlear implant processor upgrade: $2,550 • Fitting and training sessions: $380 • Delivery and set-up: $75 • First-year servicing plan: $395 Thanks for reading all this.
