Help Charlotte restart a bicycle repair shop in Worcester after floodwater
Charlotte lost a full set of tools to floodwater and needs $2,600 to reopen a bicycle repair shop and support the family.
🇺🇸 Worcester, Massachusetts, United States763 views
For twelve years I have run a bicycle repair shop in Worcester. In August, floodwater took a full set of tools. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me.
Before that, my customers came every Tuesday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 6 weeks.
This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment.
Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item.
Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go.
Where the $2,600 goes:
• Replacing a full set of tools: $1,150
• Initial stock: spare parts: $550
• Shop repairs and licensing: $460
• Working capital for the first month: $440
Thanks for reading all this.

Sending love. Small businesses are the heart of Worcester. Hope you're open again soon. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Love from Johannesburg.
Hang in there, Charlotte. Shared this with my family.
