A neighborhood bakery in Sacramento needs help replacing a commercial oven after the demolition of the market.

Sacramento
For four years I have run a neighborhood bakery in Sacramento. In September, the demolition of the market took a commercial oven. I have no insurance, and the bank won't lend to me. Before that, my customers came every Saturday, and I employed 3 people from the neighborhood. I have been out of business for 3 weeks. This business pays my children's school fees and rent. I have already started working from home in small ways, but I can't meet orders without proper equipment. Every contribution brings me closer to reopening, and I promise to post photos as I buy each item. Once I'm back on my feet I plan to hire back the people I had to let go. Where the $3,400 goes: • Shop repairs and licensing: $430 • Replacing a commercial oven: $2,550 • Initial stock: flour, butter and sugar: $420 Thanks for reading all this.

Updates from Beatriz

  1. Good news. Because of your gifts ($474 in total) the plan for shop repairs and licensing is now scheduled. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.

  2. Thank you all. We're at 5% now ($164). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the supplier and confirmed the amounts.

  3. Good news. Because of your gifts ($53 in total) we've started the first stage. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
