Coats, boots, hats and gloves are needed before the rains.

I coordinate donations at Baobab Refugee Centre in Oakland. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Oakland, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Baobab Refugee Centre on Tuesday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Baobab Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Glad we found this place.

Sending love, Karina. Your post was clear and honest. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. God bless
