Aileen was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in August. The oncology team at San Fernando University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in December. She will be away from work for about 5 weeks.
Aileen is 53, worked as a shop owner until August, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Fernando University Hospital 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Scans and lab work: $250
• Household costs while unable to work: $380
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $970

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Aileen.
Scans and lab work is $250 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. It helps to be asked.
