Hélène is facing colon cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Hélène was diagnosed with colon cancer in July. The oncology team at the Lyon Oncology Institute has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in September. She will be away from work for about 3 weeks.
Hélène is 37, worked as a farmer until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Lyon Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.

• Household costs while unable to work: $710
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $4,950
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $690
