Heatwave in Nashik: help the families of Millbrook Lane rebuild
After the heatwave, families in the families of Millbrook Lane need clean water, roofing materials and bedding.
🇮🇳 India2,065 views
The heatwave hit the families of Millbrook Lane on 25 February. My home was one of 23 damaged, and 2 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates.
Where the $1,350 goes:
• Roofing sheets and timber: $570
• Clean water and purification supplies: $160
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $95
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220
• Tools and labor for repairs: $305
Every share and every dollar helps.
Updates from Vaishali
Thank you all. We're at 52% now ($704). I'm honestly stunned. we've booked the dates and paid the deposit.
Update from Nashik: I made the first payment toward roofing sheets and timber. We're at 19% of the goal. Thank you for believing in us.
