Flood in Mohammedia: help the Old Town neighborhood rebuild
The flood damaged 16 homes in the Old Town neighborhood. We're raising funds for repairs, supplies and temporary shelter.

The flood hit the Old Town neighborhood on 11 July. My home was one of 16 damaged, and 12 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall.
The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming.
Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before.
We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy.
Funds go to building materials, water purification supplies, bedding, and food for families still in shelters.
Where the $850 goes:
• Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $210
• Food parcels for displaced families: $220
• Tools and labor for repairs: $420

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Sami.
Sure. The biggest one is bedding, blankets and mattresses, $210. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. Ask me anything else.
