Let's build a community garden together in London

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 27 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Liberty Park, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $890, and the remaining cost is $3,550. It will serve about 167 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,550 goes: • Materials: $3,000 • Permits and inspections: $105 • Safety equipment and signage: $220 • Tools hire and delivery: $225 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
