Fighting stomach cancer: help Étienne afford treatment in Paris
8 rounds of treatment are planned at the Paris Oncology Institute; we're asking for help with the costs insurance doesn't cover.
🇫🇷 Paris, Île-de-France, France364 views
Étienne was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January. The oncology team at the Paris Oncology Institute has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in March. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks.
Étienne is 46, worked as a primary school teacher until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to the Paris Oncology Institute 3 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $2,700 goes:
• Household costs while unable to work: $800
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $450
• Transport to the Paris Oncology Institute: $490
• Scans and lab work: $960
With deep gratitude,
Élodie

Sending good thoughts. This could happen to any of us. Sent it to 16 people at work. Love from Paris.
Wishing you peace. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. I went through something like this 4 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Love from San Francisco.
