Fighting prostate cancer: help Efe afford treatment in Gwagwalada
Efe is facing prostate cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.
🇳🇬 Gwagwalada, Abuja FCT, Nigeria1,690 views
Efe was diagnosed with prostate cancer in July. The oncology team at Gwagwalada Regional Medical Center has planned 6 rounds of treatment, starting in October. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks.
Efe is 27, worked as a bakery worker until July, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Gwagwalada Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly.
We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders.
I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
Where the $1,200 goes:
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $490
• Scans and lab work: $240
• Transport to Gwagwalada Regional Medical Center: $160
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $100
• Household costs while unable to work: $210
I hope life is good to you.
