Help Tumusiime with citizenship application filing and attorney fees
Tumusiime needs $500 for filing fees and representation in a citizenship application before the October deadline.
🇰🇪 Uasin Gishu, Kenya931 views
Tumusiime is facing a citizenship application. The hearing is scheduled for October, and the filing fees and the lawyer's retainer come to $500. Three legal-aid offices have said their waiting lists are longer than the deadline.
Tumusiime has all the paperwork ready, and a caseworker at Eldoret Welcome Centre has confirmed that the case is valid.
If the deadline is missed Tumusiime could lose the right to stay with the family and the job. The children were born here and this is the only home they know.
The money goes to the immigration attorney's trust account and the court filing office. I'll upload receipts with sensitive details removed.
Where the $500 goes:
• Court-appointed interpreter and travel: $15
• Attorney retainer: $380
• Filing and biometrics fees: $105
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hope it all works out. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. This is the second need I've supported on here and the first that made me cry
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tumusiime.
Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. court-appointed interpreter and travel comes first ($15) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. Ask me anything else.
Hope things get better soon, Amani. Hope this works out for you. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from San Jose
Wishing you the best, Amani. Gave what I could, wish it was more. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Thinking of Eldoret
best of luck, Amani. Looking forward to the next update.
