Edilene was diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma in September. The oncology team at São Paulo University Hospital has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in December. She will be away from work for about 12 weeks. Edilene is 25, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until September, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to São Paulo University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,850 goes: • Household costs while unable to work: $250 • Transport to São Paulo University Hospital: $310 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $1,050 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $240 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to. - Daniela

  • Take care. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. We're a small family in Paris but we're thinking of you. Take care.
