Could you share an hour a week with Colton?
Colton lives alone and has no family nearby; a weekly hour of conversation would transform the week.

I'm writing for my neighbor Colton, who's 77. Colton lives alone in Bakersfield, and lost a lifelong friend last year. The nearest family lives several hours away.
Colton loves crossword puzzles, and would enjoy someone to chat with. An hour a week, perhaps on Tuesday afternoon, would mean the world. We can also arrange a phone call if you can't visit in person.
All visitors will be introduced by me and I'll be there at the first meeting. I'll share references and, if you'd like, a short orientation from the local befriending charity.
No special skills are needed - just kindness and patience.
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending good thoughts, Carter. Wishing Colton a smooth procedure and a full recovery. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Thinking of Bakersfield.
