Fighting Hodgkin lymphoma: help Gareth afford treatment in Ekurhuleni

Gareth is facing Hodgkin lymphoma and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

Ekurhuleni
Gareth was diagnosed with Hodgkin lymphoma in March. The oncology team at Ekurhuleni Regional Medical Center has planned 4 rounds of treatment, starting in July. He will be away from work for about 6 weeks. Gareth is 34, worked as a construction supervisor until March, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Ekurhuleni Regional Medical Center 2 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $1,450 goes: • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $790 • Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $130 • Scans and lab work: $260 • Household costs while unable to work: $270 Thanks for being kind about this.
