Leila was diagnosed with early-stage lung cancer in January. The oncology team at Madrid Cancer Centre has planned 8 rounds of treatment, starting in May. She will be away from work for about 8 weeks. Leila is 55, worked as a nurse until January, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after her. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to Madrid Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off her shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes. Where the $5,100 goes: • Transport to Madrid Cancer Centre: $600 • Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $2,950 • Household costs while unable to work: $1,550 If you're reading this, thank you. - Samir
