Fighting cervical cancer: help Daniel afford treatment in Tarkwa
Daniel is facing cervical cancer and the cost of treatment, travel and care at home is far beyond what the family can cover.

In June I was diagnosed with cervical cancer. My oncology team at Tarkwa Cancer Centre has planned 12 rounds of treatment, and the first starts in September. I was told to expect about 10 weeks away from work.
I never imagined I'd be writing something like this. I'm 40, I worked as a farmer until June, and I have been the main earner for my household.
Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, transport to Tarkwa Cancer Centre 5 times a week, and the income I have lost add up quickly.
My family is doing everything they can, but we've already sold what we could and are borrowing for groceries.
Funds will be used only for treatment, medication, transport to appointments and essential living costs during treatment.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Scans and lab work: $160
• Nutrition and supplements prescribed by the care team: $85
• Household costs while unable to work: $170
• Chemotherapy and medication not covered: $685
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.
- Daniel
