Brooks was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma in December. The oncology team at San Jose University Hospital has planned 12 rounds of treatment, starting in February. He will be away from work for about 10 weeks. Brooks is 53, worked as a cleaner at a hospital until December, and has always been the one who looks after everyone else. Now it's our turn to look after him. Treatment is covered only in part. Medication that isn't on the approved list, trips to San Jose University Hospital 4 times a week, and the income the family has lost add up quickly. We've already sold what we could and have begun borrowing for groceries. Every kindness from you takes weight off his shoulders. I'll post every invoice and receipt as an update so donors can follow where each gift goes.
