Feed 97 families each week at Community Pantry in Nairobi
The Community Pantry pantry in Nairobi is running low just as demand rises; $400 will stock it for 12 weeks.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of the mosque courtyard. We started with 14 families, and now we feed 97 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 33% this summer, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Nairobi market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $240
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $70
• Baby formula and diapers: $45
• Refrigeration and electricity: $45
