Feed 77 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in Los Angeles
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in Los Angeles is running low just as demand rises; $2,250 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2019, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Monday from the back of a community center. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 77 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 47% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 19 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Los Angeles market and keep every receipt.
Each $55 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $2,250 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $720
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $710
• Baby formula and diapers: $630
• Refrigeration and electricity: $190
Glad we found this place.

More neighborhoods should do this. I hope April is when things finally get easier. Take care.
Thanks for sharing this, Meng. Hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Greetings from Ubud
Rooting for you, Meng. Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I went through something like this 9 years ago and strangers helped me out.
wishing you peace, Meng. Great idea, hope you get there. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. All the best.
Keep going, Meng. This could happen to any of us. All the best.
