I coordinate donations at Cedar Refugee Centre in Austin. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Austin, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at Cedar Refugee Centre on Sunday between 10am and 2pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the Cedar Refugee Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone.
Thank you for reading my story.

thinking of you. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I went through something like this 11 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best
Praying for you. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Thinking of Austin.
wishing you the best. I hope your landlord gives you a bit more time while this comes together. I'll check back for the next update.
