The Open Hands Pantry pantry in Busan is running low just as demand rises; $1,100 will stock it for 11 weeks.

Since 2023, our volunteer team has run Open Hands Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 15 families, and now we feed 383 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Busan market and keep every receipt.
Each $30 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,100 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $95
• Baby formula and diapers: $280
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $725
