Abigail can't leave home - help build a ramp
Materials are donated. We need two carpenters and a helper for a weekend in Knoxville.
🇺🇸 Knoxville, Tennessee, United States174 views
Abigail has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Abigail can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Abigail's family will cook lunch for the team.
Glad we found this place.

Wishing you the best, Kendall. Look after yourselves too, caregivers need rest. We're a small family in Nagoya but we're thinking of you. All the best.
