Feed 304 families each week at Community Pantry in Bordeaux
The Community Pantry pantry in Bordeaux is running low just as demand rises; $1,400 will stock it for 6 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Friday from the back of a borrowed garage. We started with 29 families, and now we feed 304 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 49% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 6 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Bordeaux market and keep every receipt.
Each $20 feeds a family of four for a week.
All of the funds go to groceries, fresh produce, and cold-storage costs.
Where the $1,400 goes:
• Refrigeration and electricity: $250
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $580
• Baby formula and diapers: $570
Thanks for reading all this.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Serge.
a colleague of mine might know someone for this in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. I'll ask around and let you know.
Thanks for sharing this, Serge. Shared it with a few friends. Blessings.
You're not alone. More neighborhoods should do this. I went through something like this 7 years ago and strangers helped me out. Take care.
