Feed 289 families each week at Community Pantry in Thane
The Community Pantry pantry in Thane is running low just as demand rises; $650 will stock it for 9 weeks.

Since 2021, our volunteer team has run Community Pantry every Saturday from the back of a community center. We started with 25 families, and now we feed 289 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 35% this winter, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 9 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Thane market and keep every receipt.
Each $5 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $650 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $340
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $160
• Baby formula and diapers: $90
• Refrigeration and electricity: $60
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
Updates from Umesh
Good news. Because of your gifts ($120 in total) I made the first payment toward rice, beans, flour and oil. Still a way to go but it feels less lonely.
9% there. I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. Thank you.
Thank you all. We're at 8% now ($50). I'm honestly stunned. the plan for rice, beans, flour and oil is now scheduled.

Hope things get better soon. Shared it with a few friends. My neighbor in Móstoles donated after I showed her your page. Blessings.
