Feed 280 families each week at Neighbors' Pantry in San Francisco
The Neighbors' Pantry pantry in San Francisco is running low just as demand rises; $2,400 will stock it for 10 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run Neighbors' Pantry every Friday from the back of a community center. We started with 24 families, and now we feed 280 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 48% this rainy season, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the San Francisco market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,400 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,500
• Baby formula and diapers: $460
• Refrigeration and electricity: $440
I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
