The the Harvest Pantry pantry in Los Angeles is running low just as demand rises; $1,700 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Harvest Pantry every Sunday from the back of a school canteen. We started with 19 families, and now we feed 242 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 46% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 16 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Los Angeles market and keep every receipt.
Each $40 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $1,700 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $430
• Refrigeration and electricity: $210
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $1,060
I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

Keep going. Shared it with a few friends. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
