Sibusiso runs a volunteer pantry feeding 161 families; this fund restocks shelves for the harvest gap.

Since 2020, our volunteer team has run the Second Helping every Friday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 30 families, and now we feed 161 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 60% this harvest gap, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Gqeberha market and keep every receipt.
Each $10 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $850 goes:
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $410
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $310
• Baby formula and diapers: $95
• Refrigeration and electricity: $35

Quick update: $121 raised so far (14%). I made the first payment toward refrigeration and electricity. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
Small update. $101 so far, I met with the wholesaler and confirmed the amounts.
