Kazuo, my brother, passed away on 21 October after a short illness. He was 86 years old. He was the heart of our family and had no savings or life insurance.
The funeral home has given us a quote of $4,750 and the cemetery needs payment before the burial date of 26 October.
I have already used what I had for the hospital bills. My family is scattered, and many of us are out of work. We want Kazuo to have a dignified farewell.

Anything left over after the funeral will be donated to a local food bank.

• Cemetery plot and burial fees: $1,300
