Aiden was diagnosed with a thyroid nodule that needs removal in August. The surgeon at Tallahassee Orthopedic Institute recommended emergency hernia repair, and He is scheduled for September. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $9,750, and after what the government subsidy will pay we're still $6,900 short.
my husband has been in and out of Tallahassee Orthopedic Institute since August. The doctors say a thyroid nodule that needs removal will get worse without emergency hernia repair. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $9,750 is more than we can find.
While we wait, Aiden struggles with daily life and can't lift anything heavy. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there.
The recovery period is expected to take about 10 weeks. During that time Aiden won't be able to lift anything heavy, so the costs keep growing.
