Electricity and water shut-off notice: help Evelyn pay $1,050
A disconnection notice for electricity and water arrived and Evelyn needs $1,050 before December.

The electricity and water account is 4 months behind. I received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless I pay $1,050. I have never been late before losing my job in August.
I called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $85 first, which I don't have.
I live with two young children, and going through summer without electricity and water isn't safe. Without it we can't refrigerate insulin and food, or keep the house at a safe temperature.
I'm working on getting back on my feet, and will pay forward whatever help I can once I'm steady.
The money will go directly to the utility provider, and I'll post the paid statement here.

• Reconnection and late fees: $170
• Down payment on a payment plan: $160
