Githinji served ten years; now needs help to get home
Githinji served ten years in the medical corps; $600 would cover a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment.

I served ten years in the medical corps and was discharged in 2023 with a traumatic brain injury. I have been waiting fourteen months for support, and meanwhile I'm sleeping at my brother's place.
I have a plan: a deposit on a one-bedroom apartment. The quote I have comes to $600.
I'm receiving counseling through the veterans' clinic and am committed to my recovery. Structure and a stable place to live are the missing pieces.
I'd be grateful for any help and will share updates on how I'm doing.
I'll post invoices, with personal details hidden.
Where the $600 goes:
• Transport to appointments: $40
• Housing deposit and first month: $300
• Training provider fees: $260
Glad we found this place.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Githinji
It's all in the list in the story. transport to appointments is the big one at $40, I'll post a receipt when it's paid. Thanks, that means a lot.
Sending love, Githinji. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I'm in engineering myself and wanted you to know we're cheering for you. God bless
