The electricity account is 2 months behind. Ika received a disconnection notice that says service will be cut off on December unless $100 is paid. She had never been late before losing my job in August.
Ika called the provider and asked about a payment plan, but they need a down payment of $30 first, which isn't available.
The household includes three children under ten, and going through the rainy season without electricity isn't safe. We would also lose the ability to run the medical equipment at home.
Ika is working on getting back on her feet, and wants to pay it forward once steady.
Every dollar goes to the account in Ika's name; a copy of the paid bill will be shared in the updates.
