I'm caring for my mother, who's 93. After a fall and hip fracture Deepika can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Deepika desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after her, but we need a part-time carer.
Deepika worked all of her life as a shopkeeper, and raised 2 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for three months will make a huge difference.
Funds cover the carer's wages, medicines, a hospital bed rental and incontinence supplies.
Where the $850 goes:
• Part-time carer (three months): $600
• Medication and prescriptions: $70
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $75
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $105

Everything on the list is an amount I've been quoted or invoiced. part-time carer (three months) comes first ($600) and I'll update the page as each thing gets paid. It helps to be asked.
