Care for Vusi, 76: help cover a carer and medication in Johannesburg
Vusi, 76, needs daily care to stay at home, and the family is raising $1,750 for a carer and medicines.

I'm caring for me, who's 76. After a heart attack Vusi can no longer manage alone. A nursing home would cost far more than we have, and Vusi desperately wants to stay at home.
I work 50 hours a week and have cut back to look after him, but we need a part-time carer.
Vusi worked all of his life as a shopkeeper, and raised 4 children. Now we're trying to give some of that care back.
Medication, a hospital bed and a carer for eight months will make a huge difference.
The carer will be employed through a registered agency and paid directly. I'll share the agency invoices.
Where the $1,750 goes:
• Part-time carer (eight months): $1,350
• Medication and prescriptions: $145
• Hospital bed and mattress rental: $60
• Mobility aids and bathroom adaptations: $195

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Vusi
Part-time carer (eight months) is $1,350 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
