Build a wheelchair ramp for Toru in Fukuoka
Toru uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇯🇵 Fukuoka, Fukuoka, Japan535 views
Toru has used a wheelchair since 2023, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Toru can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Toru's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thank you so much.

Keep going. Hope the doctors have good news. I went through something like this 8 years ago and strangers helped me out. All the best.
Hope it all works out, Eri. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. Don't be hard on yourself for asking.
Good luck, Eri. This could happen to any of us. We had a similar scare last year, I know what it feels like. God bless.
take care. This could happen to any of us. My colleague had a similar thing happen so this one hit home.
Thinking of you, Eri. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. God bless.
