Build a wheelchair ramp for Osamu in Shinjuku

Osamu uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.

Shinjuku
Osamu has used a wheelchair since 2022, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Osamu can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair. The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two. The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate ten hours of work. Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Osamu's family will cook lunch for the team. Thanks for being kind about this.

        • Hope the doctors have good news. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Blessings.

          • Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Greetings from Buffalo.
