Volunteers in Palmira are raising $750 for a rainwater harvesting system at the Lotus community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $750.
It will serve about 315 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $750 goes:
• Materials: $610
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $45
• Tools hire and delivery: $75
If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
