Build a wheelchair ramp for Nuria in Iztapalapa
Help Nuria regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇲🇽 Iztapalapa, Ciudad de México, Mexico142 views
Nuria has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Nuria can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate six hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Nuria's family will cook lunch for the team.
Thanks for being kind about this.

Good luck, Marta. Get well soon. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Thinking of Iztapalapa.
