A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Wrocław

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 11 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 547 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $110 • Safety equipment and signage: $105 • Permits and inspections: $135 Thanks for being kind about this.
