Build a wheelchair ramp for Namukasa in Mukono
Namukasa uses a wheelchair and can't leave the house because of three steps at the door; we need a few hours of carpentry.
🇺🇬 Mukono, Central Region, Uganda859 views
Namukasa has used a wheelchair since 2025, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Namukasa can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the building-code slope requirement, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate eight hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Namukasa's family will cook lunch for the team.

Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I have a 11 year old who wants to send good wishes too. All the best.
Wishing you peace, Ochieng. Hope the treatment goes smoothly and recovery is quick. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too.
