Build a wheelchair ramp for Million in Bahir Dar
Help Million regain independence: a simple ramp build.
🇪🇹 Bahir Dar, Amhara, Ethiopia1,171 views
Million has used a wheelchair since 2024, and the house has three steps at the front door and no ramp. At the moment Million can only go outside when two neighbors are available to lift the chair.
The materials (treated timber, screws and non-slip surface) have been donated by a local lumberyard. We need a carpenter or two to measure, cut and build, plus a helper or two.
The ramp has to meet the local accessibility standard of 1:12 slope, which is why a person with building experience is important. We estimate twelve hours of work.
Tools are welcome - saws, drills, spirit levels. We'll provide refreshments, and Million's family will cook lunch for the team.
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

Thinking of you and your family, Solomon. I work in healthcare and wanted you to know people are on your side. After 19 years in teaching I know how hard it's to ask for anything. Blessings.
Shared this with my family. My neighbor in Leicester donated after I showed her your page. Greetings from Leicester.
